What Happiness Means To Me?

Happiness is said to be as anything that brings smile to your face!

Today, as part of my routine, let’s get into little detail about finding and celebrating happiness.

In the materialistic world that we live in today, I have lately realized that, having a pet at home brings sheer joy to oneself.

Be it anything, spending some quality amount of time with them will keep mind refreshing and happy.

Let me share a quick and short incident that happened to me a month ago.

I was with my friend on my way back to flat after a tiresome weekend shopping. We were literally talking about doing something different every weekend. It’s like, we were feeling bored for a long time now and wanted to do things a little different. And it was when we passed by an aquarium shop which caught our attention.

Coincidence is that, we exchanged faces instantly and walked into the shop to get fishes. Both of us had experience with maintaining fishes and we were excited to get a couple today.

After 15 minutes of deliberation, we ended up with 2 different colored fishes with all the required stuff.

Once after we are done with that, we were expecting the final bill amount could be somewhere around 500-700. But what the shopkeeper told was surprising.

2 fishes with food + basin and stones costs 220 INR.

I was like, 220 INR? I never thought 220 INR could bring the amount of happiness and joy these fishes had given us.

Now, my day starts with looking at these for some time and also ends with the same. It became a routine to spend some time with them daily.

Thankfully, both the fishes are super-active till today.

-         Things like these bring a lot of smile to one’s face.

Likewise, spending quality amount of time with loved one makes life even more meaningful.

Calling up to friends with no proper reason and bantering for hours together is something that is more fascinating at times.

Helping out the one in needy brings a lot of satisfaction and happiness.

Two straw’s in one coke with your loved one is the best feeling one could experience.
Taking a ride in a rickshaw that you traveled when you are in your 10’s will bring back so many memories.

Happiness that we get while bunking a class is irreplaceable.

Talking to an old friend after ages and recollecting the long lost memories defines the past memories well enough.

Getting brand new clothes to dad and mom will be the happiest feeling of all time.

Things like these undoubtedly bring smile to one’s face.

Without past and without memories, present holds no value.

Digital India : Let The New Era Begin !

When countries are progressing with Technology, it’s quite a bit unsettling to see a country like India taking the path relatively slow. But the good fact is that, India with its new government, taking the right steps to make complicated things look easier.

Digital India is all about providing the basic access of internet to citizens of the country. Also, the core aim of Digital India is to reduce the paper work system as much as possible within the next few years. In that case, people will need to have general awareness on how to access the internet.

As part of the process, the center aims to provide basic internet access to people across the country. And I think, that’s really a good move. At last, the dream of seeing India digitally enabled is taking its own shape.

But for all that to happen, a lot needs to be changed. The system needs a real big change. According to the current paper work system, citizens are supposed to spend a lot of time in getting the entries for many of their queries and requirements. Unfortunately, errors are in abundance.

So, first thing in place, the database needs a quick error check. With the advanced technology that we have today, cross checking and spell checking is no big deal.

India so far has been good at showcasing Entrepreneurial skills. So, founders of these needs to be called up and have to be put on board depending on the requirements. The government is really capable of making some big changes in the country today. Given the opportunity, I am more than sure about the start-up buddies making the mark.

A committee well versed with advanced features in terms of digital growth needs to contemplate on what needs to be done.

Not making things any complicated, it’s important to build a tool that will make it easy for people to reach out to the government at any given point of time.

A system that will monitor all the happenings and changes in the public sector will be a real move.

Passing out on a few keynotes or making any changes in the system, let people of the country know it via a portal that is accessible to all from anywhere.

Let get things done everything digitally than going back to the old traditional manual work which was now more than corrupted.

Why not come up with a protocol that will be a good entity for public as well as the government.

Let people moderate everything that was happening on board. So far, there isn't anything like making it everything in the public domain. But with Digital India, let everything fall in place.

Make the complicated things easier. Let people get access to internet. Let them find themselves on Google. Making everything fast paced and close the doors for the traditional paper work system that has so far led the country only down.

Let the changes take place.

Let’s go digital with Digital India.

Look Up: Title Win After 15 Years

So, are you up for the game?

“I hope so,” he said.

Are you going to come?

“Yes. Tomorrow?”

So, it’s like you are playing the game after 4 years now. Isn't it?

“Yeah. It’s been a long time.”

Are you excited?

“Of course, Yeah.”

Where do we start?

“Right from the basics?” he said without any hesitation.
That’s the spirit.

Having seen this guy play for the school some 4 years ago, I was confident about this guy’s ability in bringing back the cup and the past glory back to the school.

15 years of losing streak in the same game and still we believe that we have a chance in bringing back the cup. All it requires is a bit of co-ordination and luck. To the top of it, a lead runner from the front.

It was during those days when Manish was looking after a nursery plant after he had failed to make it to the quarters of the central league.

It was not easy for him to get over the debacle, having realized his love for the game.

Ruckus in the team played a vital role in the team’s loss back then. Very unfortunate that Manish had nothing to do with that. There were politics everywhere.

It took Manish some 4 years to get over the losing thing in life and started to look at life with a different perspective. He also managed to clear CAT in the meantime and was waiting for the call to come.

But for Manish, Cricket had always come first. What come may.

The process has never been an easy one. The practice required a lot of equipment which the current team is not in a position to invest.

The path was never an easy one. Manish had to work shifts to make it for the other allowances.

20 days later, everything started to fall in place. Manish had got everything he required to make it to the game.

The confidence levels have got improved gradually and he was declared fit for the tournament.

Once, the tournament started, everything was clear to the opponents that some trouble is coming their way.

What followed next is a history.

Team led by Manish kept winning matches by a huge margin.

Had it not been for Manish, it wouldn't have been possible for the team to perform in such a tournament that has got a lot of hype across.

Quarter-finals, Semi-finals and then into Finals.

The team was unstoppable.

The team ended up winning the title.

And the happiness in the face of coach is something priceless.

Criticized the team for lack of skills and co-ordination.

But with Manish’s comeback into the team, everything has changed.
Looking at things positively is what Manish had taught people in the academy. – Said the coach.

Together : 'We' Is Greater Than 'You' and 'I'

Together is always a great feeling. It reminds me that I am not alone in this world. Sometimes, a casual walk with a loved one is good enough to rejuvenate yourself in the best possible way. But, would you believe if I tell you that a 30 minutes time spent with my loved one changed my life altogether for good reasons?

Well, it has. I may not be a fortunate receiver of love all the time. But, situations like these made me a better person today.

More than ‘You and I’ I prefer to go with ‘We’. The happiness of being together can help one achieve anything with great confidence. That’s called the perks of being together. It’s such a powerful one!

Here’s how 30 minutes in a day changed my life forever!

We were on a course of shopping all the day for an event that holds high importance to ‘her’. Needless to say, she is one such a shopping freak.

I was there with her, like I do always. She has got that nice pair of earrings that goes perfectly well with her dress. I kind of loved the combination.

For me, it’s hard to shift the gaze. She’s god damn beautiful.

We then headed towards a food joint that serves the best of Indian foods. Being a foodie, I was all ready for the time to make it count. But what followed next left me flabbergasted.

The conversation was like,

“So, how far are we done with shopping?” I asked ‘her’ trying to initiate the conversation.

Though I’ve been going out with ‘her’ for a year, I still had this starting trouble.

“85% Maybe.” I am still in need of 3 pairs of fancy flip-flops for kids aged 12-14. She replied with a glow on her face. I always see that in her.

“Oh. For you eh?” I tried in a process of taking it a bit further.

“Nah.” Came the reply instantly.

“Okay. I got it. Must be for some personal people. Like for cousin types?” I very well know that, this is not taking me anywhere. But being bad at conversing puts me into situations like these.

“Once again Nah. I do it for charity and I send it to orphanages once in a year. ” Came the reply from her end.

It took me a minute to picture the situation. But in the realization phase, I came to know how to give it back to the society after all the little milestones we do set for ourselves in life. She tells me that, every year when she gets the bonus, half of that amount will be used this way by giving something back to the society.

I was flattered. Not just once, but for a millionth time. The rest of the shopping didn't go one-sided. I did my part in contributing for the same. It was then, ‘We’ shopped together and have forwarded the goods to the nearby orphanage.

It was the first and the last outing I had with ‘her’. It may not be a big bashing one. But, a sensitive one and has moved me well enough. Ever since that day, my perspectives towards life had changed.

Some people never meant to be in your life forever. They come, they teach and they go.

For me, ‘her’ chapter is the same.

Start A New Life In Chennai - The Hub of Opportunities

Change is the essence of life. I wonder, even till today, what if I had not moved to Chennai back in 2009. Where would I stand today if I had not taken that very step some 6 years back? A step that defines me completely today. A step I thought will change the course of my life forever. For fortunate reasons, it did change on a different stand.

A click from Tamil Nadu Express ! #Mornings #StartANewLife #Chennai

Instant changes that happens in one’s life will not be having a welcoming start. Likewise, Chennai didn't welcome me with a warm smile. Instead, it gave me a challenging smile. I had no other way but to take it.

In my case, first two years were like hell. You’d have no idea why in the world you are in a place like Chennai. Everything about the city will keep pushing you to find reasons to move out of the city in quick time. I've seen people who struggled to get adapted to Chennai living style. But in the end, 7 out of 10 will end up leaving city if given the opportunity.

But I was there. Not waiting for the opportunity, but waiting for the right time to settle down. Learning the local language will be of great fun. I thoroughly enjoyed talking to people in Tamil. A kind of proud feeling that I have now added Tamil to my list of languages.

6 years down the line, I am kind of addicted to this place. Which looked as a complete stranger’s place back in 2009 is now giving me the homely feel. The kind of attachment and bonding developed with people over here is something that is so special.

For me, Chennai is the hub of opportunities. It is a place where one can discover themselves. It is also a place where one can live life on their own terms.

Looking back at life, Chennai has given me opportunities all the time. Worked as a content writer for a start-up company has been one of the best feelings I ever had in the recent times. I so wish Chennai will be the new start-ups hub in India after Bangalore.

I discovered my writing thing only after I had moved to Chennai. Starting up a day with Sambar Idly and ending the same with “kara kuzhambu” will forever be the best meals of all time. No matter where I go, the love for authentic Chennai food will be with me till the end.

Also, Chennai is having its own quirks and twists. That peculiar behavior of people is for observation all the time. I did really enjoy my 4 years of engineering living with people of peculiar behavior.

So, if you are looking around for opportunities or a place where you think you can find your true place, then, Chennai is one city for you.

You may initially struggle, but rest will be history if you get your things right. #StartANewLife
